About the meme:
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish, but is now moved to That Artsy Reader Girl! The read more about this meme, look at this page!
This week’s meme is ‘love freebie’ since it is valentine’s soon!
Recently I read Fix her up and The unhoneymooners, both I really enjoyed! I didn’t expect to enjoy these books so much, since they are both adult contemporary/romance, which I thought was outside of my comfort zone, but apparently I love it! So I thought it would be a good idea to list some adult contemporary that I would like to read!

- Red, White and Royal blue – Casey McQuiston
- The flatshare – Beth O’Leary
- The kiss quotient – Helen Hoang
- The hating game – Sally Thorne
- Josh and Hazel’s guide to not dating – Christina Lauren
- Get a life, Chloe Brown – Talia Hibbert

I know this are only 6 books, but these are the only ones that I can think of right now that I’m interested in! But if you have any recommendations, let me know!
I don’t read a ton of adult contemporary either, but Kiss Quotient has been on my TBR for a while now and I have heard really good things about it!!!
Same!
I don’t normally read contemporary, let alone contemporary romance, but I do have to say that everyone seems to enjoy Red, White and Royal Blue so much that I’ve put a hold on it and plan to read it. I’m just super curious (and why not? I don’t mind taking reading risks now and then).
I have to say that romance, in general, is outside my comfort zone because I tend not to enjoy it, so I’ve been sort of trying to expand my reading to some paranormal romance, at least, so it’s a blend of the fantasy world I’m used to and the romance world. I’m finding that I actually am enjoying more of these books than I thought i would!
I actually just finished Red, White & Royal blue, I can see why people love it, it was just not really for me I guess..! Still recommend trying it out though!
Maybe I should try paranormal romance as well, might be a bit more up my alley!
I have nothing but good things to say about so many of these books! I hope you love them when you get to them!
Good to hear! Thanks 🙂
I also really want to read The Flat Share! I’ve heard such fantastic things about it! Great list <3
Same! Thanks 🙂
Oh I just finished The Kiss Quotient and I loved it! I hope you enjoy it, too. <3
My Top Ten Tuesday
That sounds promising!
I’d like to read Get a Life too! I hope you enjoy these.
Me too 🙂
All these books are my TBR! I hope to read them soon!
Yeah! I hope so too!
Adult contemporary is definitely one of those genre’s I’m very unfamilliar with and would like to try some more of in the futute. Read white and royal blue will probably be one of them, after all the hype it has gotten!
My TTT.
Most of us are apparently haha!
I’m currently reading that one and definitely enjoying it!
You have so many great books on here. I hope you get to read them soon!
I hope so too 🙂
Contemporary romance is very out of my comfort zone as well – way too far to try it I barely got to the point where I started to consider romance (historical or fantasy) potentially in my comfort zone. But I’ve heard a lot of good things about Red White and Royal Blue!
I do have to be in the right mood for it haah! Most of the time I prefer the epic action scenes in fantasy!
I really want to read some more contemporary too! Kiss Quotient is high on my list, as well as With the Fire on High.
Oh WIth the fire on high is so good! I hope you will love it!
I’ve heard of so many of these but I’m not a big contemporary fan! Might have to change that in 2020. Great post
I used to not be into contemporary at all! But I guess my reading taste is changing!
I don’t read a lot of adult contemporary romance, but I loved Red, White, & Royal Blue.
I’m currently reading it, and it is so good!
A genre outside my comfort zone would be historical romances. Until a few weeks back, I’d only ever read the classics in this genre. And then last month I tried the Castles Ever After series by Tessa Dare, and fell in love. So I was definitely glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried something new.
You have a fun TBR lined up. Of these books I have read & enjoyed The Hating Game, Red White & Royal Blue, and simply adored The Kiss Quotient. Hope you enjoy them as well.
Ooh I read some works of Tessa Dare, definitely enjoyed those! But I think that is the only historical romance I’ve read as well ahah (besides classics). I hope you find some others in this genre that you will love!
I really hope I end up loving them!
Josh and Hazel is my favorite Christina Lauren!!! Also loved THG and Kiss Quotient!
Ooh that sounds promising! Excited to try them out 🙂
Yaas, these are great contemp adult romances to try if you’re not sure about this genre! Josh & Hazel is so much fun. The Flatshare was adorable. The angst in Hating Game is so real (and so good)! The Kiss Quotient gave me so many feels. I hope you enjoy all of these if/when you give them a try 😀
I hope so too! Happy to hear you did 🙂
Romance is outside my comfort zone, too. In fact, if that is the main focus in the blurb I tend to run the other way. I do like romance as an element of a story that has other things going on. I tries The Kiss Quotient, but it was just too sweet for me!
I used to be like that as well haha! But I guess my reading taste is changing 🙂
Romance is outside my comfort zone – it’s just not a genre I read that often. That being said, I have Red, White, and Royal Blue to read because of peer pressure from my book club and the outstanding reviews I’ve seen for it.
I started Red, White and Royal blue yesterday, and I have to admit, I can see the hype! It is very funny and cute!
So many on here I love and want to read as well pretty much all of them haha! Christina Lauren’s can be a bit of a hit and miss for me but I’m keen to try Josh and Hazels sometime soon! Awesome post Evelyn!
I hope we will both enjoy that one!
Great list! I thought The Kiss Quotient was really sweet, and I’d like to give Red, White & Royal Blue and Get a Life, Chloe Brown a try, too.
I hope you enjoy them as well!
