I ‘worked’ from home for 3 days this week.. I don’t think I’m very good at that haha! I get distracted so easily! I did read a lot because of it! Also because I honestly cannot do that much without doing actual lab work, so writing a thesis without data is very hard.. But I’m doing my best!
Friday was not my best day.. I was supposed to go home for Easter, and I already expected that the flight would be cancelled because of this COVID-19, but now it actually got cancelled, and it made me sad.. And there were some other things because of this that made me stressed, so I had such a bad night Friday-Saturday.. But then Saturday I really took a day for myself to relax and just do stuff I wanted, it was very necessary haha! (means lots of reading!)
I also participated in the bookie trials royal weekender last weekend, so that also really helped my reading haha!
What I read this week (books with * have a review coming!):

The girl in red* – Christina Henry – 4 stars! I’m so surprised by how much I enjoyed this one!
The nickel boys – Colson Whitehead (audio) – 2 stars! I don’t think I understood this book haha, very confusing.
Ruthless gods* – Emily A Duncan – 3 stars! Slightly disappointed in this one, it was good, just not as good as the first book!
The flatshare* – Beth O’Leary – 4 stars! I was so pleasantly surprised by this, and it was exactly what I needed at the moment!
Ice wolves – Amie Kaufman (audio) – 3.5 stars! This was lots of fun, I really hope the sequel will get an audiobook soon!
Children of the whales vol. 11 – Abi Umeda – 3 stars! I’m still enjoying this series, but I think it is going a bit downhill..
Havenfall* – Sara Holland – 2.5 stars! Quite disappointed in this one, I guess I expected more from it!
Sky in the deep* – Adrienne Young (audio) – 2 stars! Wasn’t really a fan of the main character!

What I’m currently reading:
The silent patient – Alex Michaelides – I’m scheduling this post a bit in advance, so I might have actually finished this haha, but so far I’m really enjoying it and very curious to the reveal!

Reviews I posted:
Between burning worlds – Jessica Brody & Joanne Rendell (blog tour)
The unspoken name – AK Larkwood
Other posts:
Top Ten Tuesday – non-fiction books to read
Top Five Tuesday – Authors PQRST
OWLs TBR (aka April reading plans)
Top Five Saturday – Murder mysteries
Books I bought/received:
Chain of gold – Cassandra Clare (Library) I honestly just got this to make a photo for my review haha!
Havenfall – Sara Holland (Library)
Children of the whales vol. 11 – Abi Umeda (Library)
Paper girls vol. 6 – Brian K Vaughn (Library)

What I watched:
The witcher – season 1, episode 6-8 – Really liked this, I’m happy I read the short stories before though! Can’t wait for season two, whenever that one will come!
The elite – season 3 – episode 1-4 – Enjoying this, but I for some reason I can’t seem to focus on this, and I need to, since I need to read the subtitles, so I’m watching it quite slowly!
Sorry things have been tough, I know everyone is dealing with things because of the pandemic–things are very strange right now. I hope your week this past week wasn’t too bad. Hang in there! <3
Yes everyone is dealing with consequences of this pandemic..!
This week was definitely better, thanks!
You too ♥️
Working from home is definitely harder than it sounds! So sorry to hear that you won’t be able to go home for Easter. =/ I should be picking up Ruthless Gods soon. Sorry to hear that it wasn’t as good as the first. Guess I should probably lower my expectations, since I loved the first one. I’m glad to see you liked The Girl in Red, though! I have that one and should maybe try to squeeze it in soon. :3
Working from home sounds so good, but it is very hard haha!
Yeah because o fthe current situation I was expecting it, but it is still sad 🙁
I absolutely loved Wicked saints, not really sure what went wrong with the sequel.. I hope youb like it better then me!
I hope you do, I ended up loving it so much more then I thought I would!
Awww sorry you weren’t able to come home for Easter.
Hoping you’ll have a good week 🙂
I hope you have a good week too!
That’s disappointing to hear about Havenfall. I do really want to read The Flatshare, especially after reading Beth O’Leary’s most recent release. Hopefully I’ll get to it soon.
It really was disappointing, really want to love it 🙁
The flatshare was so much fun! I’m very curious to her new release!
Sorry about your flight. I, too, had my Easter plans dashed. I’m so glad for books.
Happy reading!
Oh no 🙁
I hope we will have a great reading weekend instead!
I’m glad that I am not the only one disappointed in Havenfall!
Yeah it was quite a let down..
